Fibreglass figure of Irish fisherman
The Portrush Coastal Visitors Centre is a small local heritage centre used by schools, students and the general public to educate and inform about the coastal area around Portrush.
In 2007 a new exhibition "Time and Tide" was installed charting the history of the area. This included a part reconstruction of an old Irish fishing boat, known as drondheim. Gems studio created a fibre glass figure of an old Irish fisherman to sit in the boat.
gems studio are as adept at working with small local museums as well as on larger projects, where budget is perhaps less of a priority.
Shown left, is a detail shot of the head, which shows the care and detail our team have put into this figure to ensure authenticity as the piece is to be viewed close up.
