Gems Studio - Project - Little River Band

The Little River Band of Ottawa Indians are descended from native American indian tribes who settled along the Manistee river and grand river Michigan in the 19th century.

We were asked by the cultural preservation committee to sculpt realistic likeness of 7 of their tribal members, 4 males and 3 females. The bodies were replicated to the exact measurements of each model as they were to wear replica tribal costume. The figures were to be displayed in the tribal museum at Manistee, Michigan.

Shown left, is the finished torso of the young male Akisa figure. A shot of this would typically be sent to the client for final approval before packing and despatch..
