A policeman (fibre glass head)
Thame Museum, Oxon, England
Heads and hands are of paramount importance on a character figure, often being the only parts of the body that are on show once the figure is dressed. For this reason it is of prime concern for us to make sure that they are meticulously produced.
We hold an impressive archive of head moulds, largely grouped by celebrity, ethnicity and historical accuracy. Once selected, the head can be produced in wax or fibre-glass, depending on the final situation of the figure. Heads can be fixed into position or attached using a ball and joint fixing, allowing you to rotate the head into position.
For very specific projects we are able to custom sculpt a head to your exact specification (see custom sculpt section for a more detailed account of this process).
All hands are life cast to your specification and produced in a choice of wax or resin to suit the particular budget of the project or final level of detail required in the presentation.
Shown left is a stock head from our mould archive. Produced in fibre glass, he has glass eyes and cut and stuck hair and moustache.
