The clay head in sculpt progress
gems studio were approached by Liverpool football club to produce a sculpt of star player Steven Gerrard as a centrepiece for the launch of their newest merchandise store within the new Liverpool One shopping centre.
Due to the footballer's busy schedule we were unable to organise a sitting, so worked from images and measurements supplied
by the club.
Shown left, is a detailed shot of the clay sculpt. Hair has been added blocked in for sign off purposes, so that the client has a better appreciation of how the finished product will look. This is then removed before moulding the piece.
