Raw wax heads awaiting colour tests
American fashion designer Rick Owens approached gems studio to sculpt his head and torso for use as a wax figure at his Pitti Filati "Dustpump" fashion presentation in Florence.
Shown left, are two raw wax Rick Owens heads just pulled from the mould. Much fine finishing will be done to the head before colour is applied. A colour palette will be sampled and agreed with reference to client images, in order to get the exact tones required.
Glass eyes will later be inserted: these are carefully matched to the client reference given and meticulously hand-made to the detailed specification..
