Gems studio have been working closely with the conservators of the Grassi Museum of Anthropology for a number of years, on various gallery refurbishment projects. This particular project concentrates on presenting native Australian aboriginal tribes in their natural habitat, for the purpose of educating visitors about the aboriginal way of life.

As part of the project, we were asked to sculpt an aborigine performing a ceremonial dance, which has yet to be installed in the new gallery. the launch of this area is due in Sept 09.

Shown left, is the near finished clay head of the figure. His hair has been sketched in so that the client can get a better idea of how the head will look upon final presentation.
