Gems Studio are often asked to produce unusual forms to show a historical garment in a particular way.

Shown left; is a bespoke cutaway acrylic dress form (shown alongside its original papier-mâché template form) for the display of a Paco Rabanne dress worn by Audrey Hepburn in the film “Two for the road” for The Glasgow Riverside Museum.

The museum's conservator wanted the dress to appear as if the figure was in mid movement and provided Gems Studio with the papier-mâché form from which to work. We took a cast off this piece and produced the final acrylic former.
