GEMS STUDIO are proud to have worked on Glasgow’s recently opened Riverside Museum. This architectural masterpiece is situated on the site of a former shipyard on the banks of the Clyde, housing an impressive collection of items which pay tribute to Glasgow’s rich heritage of design, engineering and construction. Primarily concerned with transport and travel, the museum’s 3000 exhibits include 150 interactive displays and many costumes and textile artefacts that enhance the historical story of work and everyday life in this historic city.

A wall of cars, suspended velodrome, locomotives, ships and trams jostle for attention along with three period street scene recreations complete with bars, trams and shops from various bygone eras, all adding to this intriguing insight into the everyday lives of Glasgow's former inhabitants.

Shown left: the edifice of the Glasgow Riverside Museum, designed by internationally-renowned architect, Zaha Hadid. The museum is set alongside a tall ship on the banks for the River Clyde.
